Hippy Hippy Shake Bellydance is South-West Sydney's premier bellydance school that caters for women from all walks of life.

Principal, Annette, is a dynamic professional educator (majoring in Physical Education, Human Movement) with over 20 years experience in the school teaching arena. She has been passionately involved in the area of Belly Dance for over 14 years and for the past 10 years has shared her knowledge and experiences in nuturing the talents of her students of all ages and abilities. In 2006, Annette completed studies in Group Fitness and attained international certification with FISAF (Federation Of International Sports Aerobics & Fitness) and registration with Fitness Australia.

Utilising knowledge gained from her performance experiences and study tours to Egypt and Morocco along with many high profile functions within Australia, Annette imparts quality and authentic learning experiences to her students. Annette is a strong and supportive advocate of safe dance practices, mentoring, performer insurance, teacher training and networking. Currently she is the President of the Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Association Incorporated (SMEDA Inc) which upholds all of these principles.

2007 sees the creation of our new beginner Tribal Style Bellydance classes with teacher Ruth.  Ruth has undertaken studies in Bellydance since 1995 and in Tribal Style Bellydance since 2003.  This relatively new & young dance form has reached amazing heights and popularity in this country in a space of a few short years.  Ruth is very dedicated to her studies and regularly attends classes taught by Debbie from Urban Turban. Ruth attends as many workshops as possible with master teacher Devi Mamak from Ghawazee Caravan with the aim to increase and perfect her skills in this area.
